Dr. Carlos J. Canino

Dr. Carlos J. Canino graduated from the University of Florida in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. He later worked on a Master Of Science in Animal Reproduction. In 2004, he gained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and did his clinical year at Kansas State University. Dr. Canino also worked as a veterinary technician since the age of 18 and has been in practice for the last 14 years. Seven of these years were in a very busy emergency and critical care practice.

Dr. Canino is a member of the AVMA, FVMA, SFVMA, and the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (IVECCS). He was also a Pfizer ELITE peer veterinarian, which allowed him to share with other veterinarians in the community the success of certain medications used in veterinary practice
His practice philosophy is mainly one of compassion for both the patient and the client. All patients should have proper diagnostic exams performed and the best care in treatment of their disease process. He believes that pets are an integral part of every family and they should be treated that way.

His interests includes the human-animal bond, behavior, emergency and critical care medicine and soft tissue surgery. Outdoor activities with the family are important to Dr. Canino.
